Since our humble beginning in 2008, the goal of KickAshSkid has been to provide the best possible Skid Units, Initial Attack Trucks (IATs), and firefighting gear to our brothers and sisters in the firefighting world.
Today, we are proud to say that we have not deviated from that goal. Every KickAsh Skid and IAT is designed and built by firefighters for firefighters with safety, ease-of-use, dependability, functionality, and efficiency in mind.
Congratulations to Polly Weigand and the Central Pine Barrens Commission on the delivery of their 2023 Ford F550 I.A.T. featuring a 300 gallon water/15 gallon integral foam tank; Hale HPX75-KBD24 high pressure diesel pump; Hannay polished aluminum hose reel with 200’ Boostlite lightweight hose and FRC couplings; Trident Foammate foam system; custom equipment baskets, side compartments, and pull-out drawers; 12,000 lb. electric multi-point winch; full NFPA-compliant LED light package; front-mounted ground sweep nozzle system; 100% stainless steel plumbing, hardware, and manifold; and aluminum-faced, weatherproof control console.

This month’s Custom Skid Unit was delivered to Chief Michael Norman of the Riga Township Fire Department in Riga, Michigan. This top mount Fire Supression skid unit features a 250 Gallon polypropylene water tank, a Wick Ultra Flo 225-18B pump powered by a 18HP Briggs and Stratton electric start engine, 200 feet of Boostlite lightweight reel hose with 1” FRC on a steel Hannay Hose Reel, Trident Foammate foam system with a 10 gallon Integral Foam Tank, a 48” pre-plumbed hose tray, 100% Stainless Steel Plumbing, Hardware, and Manifold, and a weatherproof control console.
